2018 Giving Tuesday Makes Philanthropic History

The results are in, and 2018 was the biggest year for Giving Tuesday yet!

The annual global day devoted to giving raised roughly $380 million in the United States alone, said organizers. Twenty-nine percent of gifts were made on mobile devices, according to Blackbaud’s data, up 12 percent from 2017’s event.

That represents about four million people opening their hearts and wallets and millions more volunteering their time to help those in need. With the millions of donations raised this year, the global day of giving has now broken the billion-dollar mark in total giving since it first began back in 2012.

Givelify Giving Tuesday Donations

On Givelify, nonprofit organizations and places of worship raised over $300,000 from 3,527 individual donors – a huge success!

New York’s 92nd Street Y and the U.N. Foundation started Giving Tuesday in 2012 as a philanthropic alternative to Black Friday and Cyber Monday – fueled all by the power of social media.

This day would not be possible without the generosity of donors – THANK YOU! Congratulations to all of the nonprofits and places of worship for the incredible work and the countless lives that will be impacted for years to come.
