Welcome to givelify.com, operated by GIVELIFY LLC (“Givelify”, “we,” “us,” “our”). Givelify is committed to protecting your privacy. This document (the “Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) sets forth Givelify’s and its affiliates and subsidiaries privacy practices and the possible uses of the information that it gathers via your use of givelify.com, and any Givelify web and mobile applications, related services, information, and communications (including, without limitation, through SMS/MMS messaging) that refer to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Givelify Platform”).
The Givelify Platform is offered as a technology to allow not-for-profit organizations, such as religious organizations, charitable organizations, and not-for-profit event hosts, fundraisers, and political event holders (each, a “Donee”) to create fundraising campaigns and event(s) (each, a “Fundraising Campaign”) via the Givelify Platform to receive donations (“Donations”) from givers, contributors, benefactors, and donors (each a “Donor” and together with “Donee,” “you”, or “your”).
INFORMATION COLLECTED.
When you use the Givelify Platform, we may collect information as disclosed below.
Personal Information.
We may collect personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) from you in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, when you use, navigate, and/or complete forms on the Givelify Platform as well as in connection with other activities, services, features, or resources we make available. Personal Information may include, without limitation, first and last name, email address, postal address, telephone number, IP address, and Social Security Number. You may also be asked to provide additional information to confirm your identity for password establishment, re-setting, and other purposes.
If you are a Donee and represent an organization, we may also collect your organization’s name, and federal taxpayer identification number.
Usage Information.
When you use the Givelify Platform, we may collect additional information from you that may not, by itself, reasonably identify you as the source (“Usage Information”). Usage Information may include, without limitation, information regarding your computer, the type of internet browser you are using, the location from which you are visiting the Givelify Platform, the type of computer operating system you are using to access the Givelify Platform, the domain name of the website from which you linked to the Givelify Platform, the internet service provider utilized, or the areas of the Givelify Platform you visited and the actions you performed on the Givelify Platform. We will take reasonable measures to ensure that the Usage Information we collect is not personally identifiable and may not later be easily used to identify you as otherwise required by applicable law.
Financial Information.
When Donors make Donations via the Givelify Platform, Donors are required to provide payment card information – including, but not limited to credit card number, expiration date, and billing address. We transmit that information to a payment processor. The payment processor is a third-party company, external to us. The web pages of the Givelify Platform where the information is collected, as well as all transmissions to the third-party processor, are encrypted with an SSL certificate. We do not store complete payment information on our website, but may store reference information such as the last four digits of a credit card number and/or the expiration date. When using a credit card for Donations, information you submit through the payment processor, bill pay processor, and/or association (collectively, the “Associations”) is outside the scope of this Privacy Policy. Any Donations made to a Donee via Givelify and the Givelify Platform shall be subject to the Associations’ Operating Regulations as set out in our Terms.
GIVELIFY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PRIVACY PRACTICES OF ANY THIRD-PARTY ASSOCIATION.
CHILDREN UNDER 18
The Givelify Platform is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not market to and do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from or about a child under the age of 18 without the consent of the child’s parent or legal guardian. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18 years of age, we will promptly take all reasonable measures to delete such information from our systems.
HOW INFORMATION IS COLLECTED.
We collect Personal Information and Usage Information (collectively, “Your Information”) through various means including:
Directly From You.
During registration, Givelify will collect Personal Information you voluntarily provide to us.
We may also collect Your Information when you make a Donation, request information or services, interact with us, contact us, or make other inquiries on the Givelify Platform.
Through Your Use of the Givelify Platform.
We record Usage Information that your browser transmits when you visit the Givelify Platform. Givelify also may collect Usage Information through the use of common information-gathering tools such as cookies and web beacons. A cookie is a small string of text that a website can send to your browser which helps the website remember and customize your visit. You have the option to delete or decline cookies by changing your browser’s settings. No Personal Information is stored in these cookies.
Web beacons are single-pixel, electronic images embedded in the Givelify Platform and in our emails that allow us to gather information about your activities on the Givelify Platform including browsing, click-tracking, viewing, and buying activity. No Personal Information is transmitted in these web beacons. We may also collect information from your interaction with the Givelify Platform, such as statistics in connection with page views, IP address, and standard web log information.
Mobile GPS.
When browsing the Givelify Platform through a mobile phone or mobile application, we may attempt to collect your location through GPS in order to pair you with nearby churches and not-for-profit organizations for donation purposes.
In some instances, you may be permitted to allow or deny such uses and/or sharing of your device’s location. For example, when you download a Givelify Platform (including mobile application) on your device, you may have the opportunity to state that you would like to share your location.
For information about opting out of location-based services, please refer to settings in your device settings.
Please be aware, however, that certain features of the Givelify Platform may be unavailable if your device is not set to support or enable location-based services.
USE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED.
We use Your Information for various general purposes to help enhance your experience. These purposes include, but are not limited to:
Direct Marketing.
By providing Personal Information on the Givelify Platform during registration, you consent to Givelify’s use of your Personal Information for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to receive marketing communications from Givelify, you may unsubscribe in the marketing email or communication sent to you by following the instructions in that communication.
“Contact Us” or Troubleshooting.
We may use Your Information provided using the “Contact Us” feature of the Givelify Platform to contact you to discuss your concerns or interests in Givelify’s products and services. We may also use Your Information to provide customer support or troubleshooting in connection with your use of our products or services.
Mailing Lists.
By registering to use Givelify’s services or purchasing products and services, you will be added to Givelify’s Weekly Wallet Summary mailing list or other mailing lists that we provide for your convenience. You may unsubscribe from Givelify’s mailing lists at any time by clicking on the opt-out line at the bottom of each E-newsletter or by contacting us at support@givelify.com.
Combination.
We may, on occasion, combine Your Information collected through the Givelify Platform with information that we collect from other sources.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION.
Givelify will not sell, trade, or rent your Personal Information. We may disclose Your Information to our trusted affiliates, as well as third-party partners, as follows:
Service Providers.
Your Information may be shared with third-party service providers that assist Givelify in transferring donations to entities or similar customer services.
Law Enforcement, Safety, and Legal Processes.
Your Information may be shared with law enforcement or other government officials if it relates to a criminal investigation or alleged criminal activity. We may also share Your Information if required or permitted to do so by law, for fraud protection and credit risk reduction purposes, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property, or users of the Givelify Platform. We may further share Your Information to act under urgent circumstances to protect the safety of our employees or a member of the public, or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.
Sale or Acquisition of Assets.
If Givelify becomes involved in a transaction involving the sale of its assets, such as a merger or acquisition, or if Givelify is transferred to another company, Givelify may disclose and/or transfer Your Information as part of the transaction. If the surviving entity in that transaction is not Givelify, the surviving entity may use Your Information pursuant to its own privacy policies, and those policies may be different from the Policy.
Disclosures of Aggregated Data.
Givelify may de-identify and aggregate the information we receive from the Givelify Platform’s users (“Aggregated Data”) and share the Aggregated Data with authorized third parties for any purpose. Aggregated Data will not identify you or any other individual by name or any other unique identifier, and such data is not considered Personal Information under the Policy. For example, we may share Aggregated Data with educational institutions or research organizations that are studying trends in charitable giving. We may also share Aggregated Data with other not-for-profit organizations to assist them as they develop new products or services. Further, we may share Aggregated Data with third parties who will evaluate our users’ preferences regarding our products, services, and marketing practices. Givelify will restrict any third parties to whom we transfer Aggregated Data from attempting to re-identify or otherwise misuse the data.
Academia.
Givelify may enter into relationships with academic institutions and other research organizations to perform research and insights into data uploaded through use of the Givelify Platform.
General Marketing.
We may transfer Your Information to third parties whose practices are not covered here if such third parties wish to market products or services to you. We may also disclose Your Information to enforce or apply our Terms of Use, available at https://www.givelify.com/terms-of-use/ (the “Terms”).
SPAM.
Givelify does not participate in bulk email solicitations that you have not consented to receiving (i.e., “spam”). Givelify does not sell or disclose client lists or email address lists to unrelated third parties. Except as otherwise provided herein, Givelify does not share Personal Information with any third-party advertisers. However, Givelify may share Aggregated Data with third-party advertisers, but this aggregated anonymous information cannot be matched with you personally unless you voluntarily share your Personal Information with the third-party advertisers.
PROTECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION.
Unfortunately, no data transmitted over or accessible through the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while Givelify attempts to protect all of Your Information, Givelify cannot ensure or warrant that Your Information will be completely secure from misappropriation by hackers or from other nefarious or criminal activities, or in the event of a failure of computer hardware, software, or a telecommunications network. Givelify will notify you in the event we become aware of a security incident involving your Personal Information stored by or for us (as defined and required by the applicable state and federal laws). By disclosing your email address to us for any reason, you expressly consent to receive electronic notice from us in the event of such a security incident.
THIRD PARTY LINKS.
The Givelify Platform may contain links to websites not affiliated with Givelify. Your use of an external website or any informational content found on an external website is subject to and governed by the terms and guidelines of that website. Givelify does not endorse or make any representations or warranties concerning, and will not in any way be liable for, any informational content, products, services, software, or other materials available on an external website, even if one or more pages of the external website are framed within a page of the Givelify Platform. Givelify is not responsible for the privacy practices of any external website.
MODIFICATIONS.
The Policy was last modified on the date printed below. Givelify reserves the right to update the Policy from time to time in our sole discretion, and you should check this page periodically for changes. Givelify will provide notification of material changes to the Policy through the Givelify Platform at least thirty (30) days prior to the change taking effect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review the Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
YOUR STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS.
State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their Personal Information. To learn more about California privacy rights, see the California Residents Privacy Rights section below.
Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia provide their state residents with rights to:
- Confirm whether we process their Personal Information.
- Access and delete certain Personal Information
- Data Portability
- Opt-out of personal data processing for targeted advertising and sales.
Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia also provide their state residents with the rights to:
- Correct inaccuracies in their Personal Information, taking into account the information’s nature and processing purpose.
- Opt-out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS’ PRIVACY NOTICE
This section is our Privacy Notice for California Residents (“Notice”) and applies to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“consumers,” or “you/your”) and use our Givelify Platform. This notice is provided to comply with the California Privacy Rights Act of 2018 and the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA” and “CPRA”, respectively) and any terms defined in the CCPA/CPRA have the same meaning when used in this Notice.
Scope. This California Notice applies to the Personal Information we collect, online, about California consumers, including Personal Information that we collect from users of the Givelify Platform.
This California Notice does not address or apply to:
- Our handling of Personal Information that is exempt under Section 1798.145 of the CCPA;
- Personal Information we collect about employees, contractors, or job applicants or other individuals who are not California residents; or
- Personal information we collect about individuals acting in their capacity as representatives (“B2B contacts”) of our customers, perspective customers, vendors and other businesses that we conduct business with, to the extent we use their Personal Information only in the context of conducting our business relationship with the respective business.
Information We Collect.
We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, or device (“Personal Information”).
Personal Information does not include:
- Publicly available information from government records.
- Deidentified or aggregated consumer information.
- Information excluded from the CCPA/CPRA’s scope, like
- Health or medical information covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (“CMIA”) or clinical trial data;
- Personal Information covered by certain sector-specific privacy laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA”) or California Financial Information Privacy Act (“FIPA”), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act of 1994.
We collect different types of information from users, and we use and/or disclose this information for different business purposes. The chart below identifies the Personal Information we may collect and is followed by the business purposes for which the information is collected. Use of Personal Information.
We may use or disclose the Personal Information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:
- To fulfill or meet the purpose you provided the information.
- To provide you with information, products, or services that you request form us.
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
- To respond to law enforcement requests as required by applicable law, court order or governmental regulations.
- To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by us is among the assets transferred.
- For any other purpose allowed by law.
We will not collect additional categories of Personal Information or use the Personal Information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.
Sharing Personal Information.
We may disclose and have disclosed, in the last 12 months, Personal Information to third parties for business purposes as set forth above and in this Privacy Policy. In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have not sold Personal Information. We do not share your Personal Information as defined under Cal. Civ. Code 1798.140(ah)
Data Retention.
We will retain your Personal Information for no longer than is necessary for the purposes stated in this Notice, unless otherwise extending the retention period is required or permitted by law or subject to our retention policies as may be in place from time to time. The data storage period may vary with scenario, product, or service. The standards Givelify use to determine the retention period are as follows:
Your Rights and Choices.
The CCPA and CPRA provide consumers (California residents) with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes CCPA/CPRA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.
Access to Specific Information and Data Portability Rights
You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:
- The categories of personal information we collected about you.
- The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
- Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that personal information.
- The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
- The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (also called a data portability request).
- If we disclosed your personal information for a business purpose, a list of the disclosures made identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.
Correct/Rectify Personal Information
You have the right to rectify (correct, update, or modify) the personal information we collect about you. After making such a request, we will take commercially reasonable efforts to correct inaccurate personal information within 45 days of receiving the request. In the event an extension is needed, we may take an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary. In this case, we will provide you a notice of extension within the first 45-day period.
Deletion Request Rights
You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records unless an exception applies.
We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to:
- Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
- Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
- Debug products to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
- Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights or exercise another right provided for by law.
- Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546 seq.).
- Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, specifically if you previously provided informed consent and deleting that information may seriously impair or render impossible the research’s achievement.
- Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us.
- Comply with a legal obligation.
- Make other internal and lawful uses of personal information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.
Exercising Access, Rectification, Data Portability, and Deletion Rights
To exercise the limitation, access, rectification, data portability and deletion rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by:

Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.
You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:
- Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
- Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate and respond to it.
We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.
Response Timing and Format
We will try our best to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account. If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option. Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the receipt of the verifiable consumer request’s receipt. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another and should allow you to further transmit information if you desire.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive or unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. Based solely on the exercise of your CCPA/CPRA rights, we will not:
- Deny you services
- Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties
- Provide you a different level or quality of services
- Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for services or a different level or quality of goods or services
INDIVIDUALS IN THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA
Under the European Union’s (“EU”) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), individuals in the European Economic Area have additional privacy rights:
- Right to Be Informed. Individuals have the right to transparency regarding our collection of personal data.
- Right of Access. Individuals have the right to know exactly what information is held about them and how it is processed.
- Right of Rectification. Individuals will be entitled to have personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to Erasure. Also known as the “right to be forgotten,” this refers to an individual’s right to having their personal data deleted or removed without the need for a specific reason as to why they wish to discontinue.
- Right to Restrict Processing. An individual’s right to block or suppress processing of their personal data.
- Right to Data Portability. This allows individuals to retain and reuse their personal data for their own purpose.
- Right to Object. In certain circumstances, individuals are entitled to object to their personal data being used.
- Rights regarding Automated Decision-Making and Profiling. The GDPR has put in place safeguards to protect individuals against the risk that a potentially damaging decision is made without human intervention.
To exercise the above rights, please contact us at the information provided below. We will consider and process your request within a reasonable period of time. Please be aware, under certain circumstances, the GDPR will limit your exercise of these rights.
ACCESSING, UPDATING, AND RETAINING YOUR INFORMATION.
If you ever wish to access Your Information or to have Your Information deleted, updated, changed, or modified, you may do so by contacting Givelify by email at support@givelify.com. To cancel your account and have Your Information returned to you, please contact support@givelify.com.
If you ask us to return or delete Your Information, we may not return or delete all Your Information because certain exceptions may apply. For example, we may keep all or part of Your Information for record keeping purposes, to complete transactions, as required by Donee in connection with their tax reporting obligations, or to comply with applicable laws, regulations, government investigations and audits. If you request that we delete Your Information, we might not be able to offer some services to You or they might not work the way they’re supposed to or that You’re used to. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to handle requests to update, return, modify or delete Your Information within thirty (30) days.
