Givelify Welcomes Alex Jones-Chick, Full Stack Engineer

Please join us in welcoming Alex Jones-Chick, Full Stack Engineer to the Givelify family!

Alex has six years of professional experience as a web developer working with marketing agencies on local, national, and international websites. Several years ago Alex spent six months with Katimavik, a Canadian youth volunteer program, doing volunteer work in different communities. Alex looks forward to bringing his experience and love of community to Givelify!

What causes do you care about?  What non-profit organization do you actively support?

My favorite cause is an organization called Katimavik. It is an organization in Canada that sends youth to various communities, for 6 – 9 months, to do local volunteer work.

What music is on your favorites playlist?

A bit of everything! Foo Fighters, Green Day, Sum 41, Foster the People, and musicals (Hamilton, Come From Away, and The Greatest Showman) are on my most played though.

Who would you most like to meet and why?

Probably Bill Gates. Not only is he a big nerd, but his philanthropic work is incredible.

What TV show do you never miss?

Futurama… if it was still being made.

Best advice anyone has given you?

If you get stuck on a problem, take a break and come back. Looking at it fresh can make all the difference.

What would be your go-to karaoke song?

I wouldn’t subject anybody to the torture of my singing abilities.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Probably flight so that I could see the world more easily.

Do you have any kids (furry or human)?

I have a dog named Harvey, and 2 cats named Wolf and Griffin.

What is your favorite treat?

Any gummy candy.
