Our Top 10 Most Frequently Asked Questions From Donors

If you have just signed up for Givelify, or downloaded our app, you may have questions about the technology — and how to use it. You are not alone. In order to help you get on board, we will take a look at 10 of the most common questions we receive from donors. In reading through the answers, you should get a good grasp of how Givelify works.

1. How Do You Search For Organizations In The Givelify Giving App?

In order to make a donation, you first have to locate the organization’s giving app profile. To search for a specific organization:

  1. Tap the Search bar at the top of your screen.
  2. Enter the organization’s name (and city, if needed) and then select it from the search results that appear below.

You can also use the GPS map to see organizations near your current location. To use this feature, your device must have location services turned on. The Givelify app also must have permission to access your location.

2. How Long Do Donations Take To Process?

To determine how quickly the organization will receive your contribution, keep this schedule in mind:


  • Donations made before 5:00 pm EST are disbursed the same business day.
  • Donations made after 5:00 pm EST are disbursed the next business day.

Weekends and Holidays

  • Donations made on a holiday or over the weekend are disbursed the next business day.

3. I Accidentally Donated More Money Than I Intended. Can I Get A Refund?

Yes. Contact Givelify support at or call 317-663-3088 as soon as possible so that Givelify can process a refund before the funds are distributed to the organization.

If the funds have already been disbursed to the organization, it may be necessary to contact the organization in order to process the refund.

4. How Do I Get A Report Of The Donations I Made?

While logged in to your account on the Givelify giving app, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Profile at the bottom right corner of your screen.
  2. Select History.

All donations you have made will be listed by year.

6. Can I Donate To An Unregistered Organization?

In order to process next business day deposits, the organization must be registered with Givelify. If the organization you would like to donate to is not registered, use the in-app prompts to send them an invitation.

7. Can I Give From My Computer Or Tablet?

Givelify simplifies giving on the go. Gifts can be made from your Android, iPhone, or iPad device. Follow these steps to make your first gift on your phone or tablet.

Note: For the iPad, download the app as an iPhone app.

In order to use Givelify on your computer, the organization you wish to give to must have a Givelify online giving button on their website. They may also share an online giving link via email, social media, or other electronic communications. Reach out to your organization directly to receive this online giving link.

8. Can I Save Certain Organizations As Favorites So I Can Find Them Easily?

Yes. On the organization’s donation app profile, you will see a star icon next to the words Add to Favorites. After you tap the icon, you will receive a popup message confirming that the organization has been added to your favorites.

You can also save your preferred place of worship as your home church by tapping the heart icon.

To access your saved organizations in the Givelify giving app, tap the Favorites tab at the top center of the home screen. If you have saved a place of worship as your home church, it will appear at the top of the list.

9. How Do I Reset My Password?

When you open the app, you will be brought to the log in page. Tap Forgot Password.

On the forgot password page, enter your email address and tap Send Instructions.

You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

Note: If you use your organization’s online giving link to process gifts, you will need to visit their giving link and click on the three horizontal bars at the top left of the screen. Then click on Sign in or  Sign up, and then click on Forgot Password under the Sign In button. On the Recover your password popup, enter your email address and click on Send Email. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

10. I Have More Than One Donor Account. How Do I Merge All My Accounts?

Contact Givelify support at or call 317-663-3088.

You will need to provide the names and/or email addresses used for all the accounts and the account that you wish to maintain as your giving account.

Givelify will merge all accounts including your donation history into one account.
