How Nonprofit Apps Are Making the World a Better Place

Wouldn’t you like to make the world a better place? You aren’t alone. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to find a single person living on this Earth who wouldn’t like to improve the world in some way.

Because bettering our planet is such a high priority for so many people, a wide variety of nonprofit organizations work day in and day out toward that goal. With support from donors such as yourself, they are able to make that goal a reality.

As technology advances, nonprofits are able to have a bigger impact. Here’s how nonprofit apps and mobile giving technology are helping your favorite organizations change the world.

Easy, Convenient Giving

In order for nonprofits to have the most success in making the world a better place, they have to have the funds to get their work done. Without donors, these organizations would be out of luck.

Do you have a smartphone? 64% of American adults do. If you have used these devices, you know firsthand how they can make life’s big and small tasks easier. Now, with nonprofit apps, they can even simplify the act of donating to charity. With just a few taps on a smartphone, you can help support your favorite cause.

Nonprofit apps make giving easier than ever. When giving is this simple, people are more likely to make those important donations — which in turn enables nonprofits to improve the world. Now that’s a wonderful chain of events.

Nonprofit Apps Create a Level Playing Field

Small organizations may not be as popular or well-funded as the big guys, but with nonprofit apps, they can have a similar fundraising platform. That level playing field is a real blessing to small charities. When fundraising is less of a struggle, they are able to make a bigger impact in their communities.

Charities of all sizes are able to boost their fundraising using modern technology like nonprofit apps, but small organizations tend to be the biggest winners. According to a study by Blackbaud:

7.4% of total fundraising for small organizations came from online giving in 2014, compared to 7.2% at large nonprofits.

Organizations with annual fundraising below $1 million grew their online fundraising 10.6%, compared to only 8.0% growth at larger organizations.

For small nonprofits, overall charitable giving in the United States increased 5.8% year over year, while large organizations only saw a 1.3% increase.

By adding nonprofit apps to the mix, even the tiniest nonprofit can raise money like the big guys. And when they put those funds to work, we all benefit.
