5 Questions Church Members Have About Mobile Giving

When rolling out mobile giving technology at your church, you likely will run into a lot of questions. Your parishioners are open to using mobile giving apps, but they need a little more information before they hop on board.

To help win your congregation over and help them make the transition, it’s important that you can answer their questions. Let’s take a look at some common questions churchgoers have about mobile giving apps, and how you can best answer them.

How Do I Make A Donation?

First things first. If someone has never used a mobile giving app before, they will need to learn how to make a donation. Thankfully, we have made the process more simple than ever. To get started, tell your parishioners to download the Givelify mobile giving app from the App Store or Google Play.

After they have downloaded the app, have them follow these steps:

  1. Sign in
  2. Search for the church you wish to donate to
  3. Tap Give Tithe & Offerings
  4. Select the amount you wish to give or type in your own amount
  5. Tap Give now

The very first time they give to a church, they will be prompted to enter their credit or debit card information. That information will be saved in their account for future mobile giving app donations.

How Does My Charity Or Church Receive My Donations?

If your church is registered with Givelify and has provided banking information, donations are disbursed by electronic deposit within one business day.

If the church is not a registered Givelify member, we will mail a physical check through the USPS.

How Long Do Donations Take To Process?

Mobile giving app donations made before 5:00 pm EST Monday-Friday are disbursed the same business day. If the donation is made after 5:00 pm EST, it will be disbursed the following business day.

Church giving often happens over the weekend, so your parishioners are likely wondering when your church will receive the funds. When donations are made on holidays or weekends, funds are disbursed the next business day.

As mentioned before, organizations that do not have a bank account on file will receive a check in the mail, which generally takes about 3-7 business days.

What Is The Cost To Use The Givelify Mobile Giving App?

The Givelify mobile giving app is free for your parishioners to download and use. There are also no signup or monthly fees.

A processing fee of 2.9% plus 30 cents is charged per transaction, and it is deducted before funds reach the church.

Is It Safe To Donate Through Givelify?

Givelify goes above and beyond to safeguard all personal and payment information. Your churchgoers can rest assured that their security is a priority.

We use industry-reviewed, military-grade encryption standards to protect all confidential and sensitive data at point of collection, during transmission and while at rest.

Data transmission to and from Givelify servers is protected via sophisticated cryptographic methods including SSL. You can find more information on the Safety & Security page on our website.
